About

Engineering positioning

Software engineer with more than six years focused on the Android platform, currently leading a mobile team that ships payment SDKs and white-label applications across Latin America.

Day to day work means technical decision-making, architecture design (MVVM, MVP, MVI, modularization), code review and onboarding of new engineers — with a strong bias towards testability, maintainability and low post-release defect rates.

Beyond native Android I work with hybrid stacks (React Native, Flutter, Capacitor/Ionic, Cordova), native iOS and Swift, plugin development in JavaScript, TypeScript and Dart, plus Java backend integrations over REST and ISO 8583 hosts.

Payment engineering brought security into the centre of my practice: EMVCo compliance, cryptography, code obfuscation with ProGuard and DexGuard, secure storage and hardened SDK distribution.

Leadership

How I lead engineering

Technical leadership expressed as engineering practice, not process theatre.

  • 01

    Technical decision-making

Framing trade-offs explicitly — platform APIs, dependencies, delivery risk — and committing to a decision the team can defend six months later.

  • 02

    Architecture design

Modular Android, MVVM/MVI boundaries and SDK contracts designed so features stay isolated and releases stay predictable.

  • 03

    Mentoring & onboarding

Onboarding and training new engineers, pairing on real tickets and turning tribal knowledge into written standards.

  • 04

    Code review & standards

Reviews that teach: naming, boundaries, error handling and test coverage over style bikeshedding.

  • 05

    Quality & testability

Designing for testability up front; instrumentation, unit and UI tests protecting payment-critical paths.

  • 06

    Delivery & CI/CD

Gradle tasks, Maven distribution and pipelines that make releasing an SDK a routine, reversible operation.

  • 07

    Technical debt management

Tracking debt as a backlog with cost estimates, then paying it down alongside feature work instead of in mythical rewrite sprints.

  • 08

    Developer experience

Faster builds, clearer module graphs and tooling migrations toward market-leading solutions.

  • Modular Android

Feature and core modules with explicit Gradle boundaries, enabling parallel builds and white-label composition.

  • MVVM / MVI

Unidirectional state with Flow and StateFlow; predictable rendering and testable state transitions.

  • MVP pattern

Presenter-driven Android screens on legacy Java codebases, kept testable while migrating incrementally towards MVVM.

  • Dependency injection

Constructor injection and module-scoped graphs so implementations stay swappable in tests.

  • API & SDK contracts

Versioned, backwards-compatible surfaces consumed by native, React Native, Flutter and Capacitor clients.

  • Testing strategy

Unit tests for domain, instrumentation for persistence, Espresso and Appium for critical flows.

  • Offline-first sync

SyncAdapter, IPC and content providers keeping field applications usable without connectivity.

Cybersecurity

Security as an engineering constraint

Payment engineering means the threat model is part of the design review, not an audit afterthought.

  • Secure coding

Input validation, safe defaults and least privilege inside SDK boundaries.

  • EMVCo & compliance

Payment SDKs built and delivered under top market security standards.

  • Encryption

Encrypted payloads and keys at rest and in transit across host integrations.

  • Hardening

ProGuard and DexGuard obfuscation for distributed white-label binaries.

  • Authentication

Biometric authentication and device-bound credentials on Android.

  • Secure storage

Protected local persistence for sensitive transactional data.

  • Secure communication

Hardened REST and ISO 8583 host channels.

  • OWASP Mobile awareness

Reviewing releases against common mobile risk categories.

// release checklist — payment SDK
✓ obfuscation proguard + dexguard rules verified // advanced
✓ keys no secrets in the APK / AAR // always
✓ transport certificate pinning on host channel // always
✓ storage encrypted local persistence // always when needed
✓ auth biometric prompt + device binding // yes
✓ review threat model revisited before tagging // yes
